Soile Stratkauskas – BMus, MMas, LRAM, ARAM

Soile is a dedicated teacher and has years of experience teaching both regular and baroque flute to students of all ages and levels, and holds LRAM pedagogy diploma.

Whilst living in London, Soile taught regular flute in several schools and music centres. Her students ranged from age 5 to 70 and learnt a varied spectrum of repertoire, taking into account each student’s individual needs, pace and musical interests. She also developed her own tutor book aimed at very young students, combining the Kodály method, familiar songs, and colours, gradually introducing the tools for reading music.

Soile is passionate about sharing her love and knowledge of historical performance practice with players of both wooden and metal flutes. Soile teaches baroque flute at the University of British Columbia as part of the Pacific Baroque Orchestra mentorship programme. For two summers she has been on faculty of the Victoria Conservatory of Music Oratorio Program’s baroque instrumental academy. Soile has given master classes for modern flute students on Baroque performance at the University of Victoria, Victoria Conservatory of Music, and the Conservatory of Joensuu in Finland.

Soile is accepting new students to her studio in Victoria, BC. If you would like to inquire about studying with Soile, please go to the contact page.
